A particularly rare phenomenon occurred on Hawaii islands and specifically on the second largest island Maui, where snow covered regions higher than 1800 meters. This is the lowest elevation that snow covered Hawaii ever.
Snow is not an unusual phenomenon on the greatest island of Hawaii, where volcanic tops, such as Mauna Kea and Loa, reach 4205 and 416 meters correspondingly.
Snow has been observed on Maui in 1952.

Snow (according to the document in figure 1) occurred in 1952 over 2286 meters, while on 12/2/2019 reached much lower regions (around 1890 meters) breaking the record that the entire complex of Hawaiian islands holds. The previous general lowest elevation of snow-covered ground was 1980 meters.
